The Macedonian folk costume is the typical representative of material folk creativity. It is created as an expression of the ethno-cultural history, perfected over the centuries under the influence of the socio-political and social circumstances or cultural links, above all with the neighbouring peoples and cultures.

The Macedonian folk embroidery is distinguished by harmonic and beautiful forms, with rich motives taken from nature stylized in the various parts of the folk costumes.

The history of the creator or rather the impressions of everyday life are impressed within every stitch and the bringing together of colours which depend on the manner of production, the materials used and the beliefs on which they are based.
